Information: Neville brings a combination of proven scientific expertise in coastal and oceanic fisheries, broad management experience, and in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Pacific Community.

He joined SPC in September 2015, where he has served almost four years as Principal Fisheries Scientist (Fisheries and Ecosystem Monitoring and Analysis) in the Oceanic Fisheries Programme. His prior 20 years of experience in science, management and policy in fisheries, aquaculture and marine ecosystems has equipped him with the ability to lead strategic regional initiatives on the international stage with change and innovation as constant companions.

His past positions have entailed extensive stakeholder engagement including project management and negotiation on a range of fisheries matters with donors, Governments, and the private sector. He has worked and served with various organisations and delegations, such as Co-Chair of the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources Working Group on Incidental Mortality Associated with Fisheries, and as Executive Secretary of the South Pacific Regional Fisheries Management Organisation Interim Secretariat, with broad experience covering the Pacific and Antarctic regions.

Neville holds a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and Ecology from Victoria University, New Zealand, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from the Henley Management College, United Kingdom.
